RETINAL IMAGING
The digital retinal camera gives a high resolution image of the back of the eye, capturing early signs of eye conditions, such as Macula Degeneration and Glaucoma. This technology is also valuable in detecting and monitoring the eye related affects of Diabetes and high blood pressure. Retinal images are attached to the patient file allowing direct comparison to be made at future examinations.
OCULAR COHERENCE TOMOGRAPHY (OCT)
Ocular Coherence Tomography (OCT) results in a cross-sectional image of the retina at a resolution similar to a high powered microscope. This amazing technology gives an image of the layers of cells at the macula resulting in early detection of macula problems such as Macula Degeneration OCT also measures the thickness of the nerve fibre layer at the back of the eye resulting in early detection of Glaucoma.
CORNEAL TOPOGRAPHY
The corneal topographer maps the shape and curvature of the cornea (the clear front cover of the eye). This results in the most accurate contact lens fit, giving clear and comfortable wear. Corneal topography is particularly important when fitting the more complex orthokeratology contact lenses.
